The Waste Team Clears up Aftermath of Harehills Unrest to Help Local Community

Whether we’re clearing out houses or knee-deep in God knows what, our team is always raring to get the job done. So when Harehills went ablaze with unrest on July 18th (2024), we geared up to clean up the aftermath.

Getting Harehills Back in Action

We work all around Leeds, so we’re no stranger to the bustling residential and commercial streets of Harehills. On the evening of Thursday, 18th July, trouble broke out, vehicles were set on fire and streets were left in carnage.

Burnt vehicles and debris from shattered windows littered the streets, along with piles of domestic waste and household furniture.

Leeds City Council needed to do a big clean-up, so we volunteered our trusty team and fleet of vans to get this community up and running again. We worked arm-in-arm with the council, removing waste in the most impacted areas.

The turnaround was quick and later that same day, Harehill residents were back to their normal lives.
