Sue Ryder

How Do We Help Cash for Kids?
For the last six years, we’ve collected all commerical waste from Cash for Kids’ head office in Leeds. This charity does so much to ensure disadvantaged children and young people can live life to the fullest, so we are more than happy to support them.Candlelighters
Candlelighters is a Yorkshire charity with a clear vision to ‘bring light and hope to all families affected by childhood cancer’. This charity provides emotional, financial and practical support, along with vital research to help the lives of kids diagnosed with cancer.
How Do We Help Candlelighters?
As part of our ethos, we like to help local charities in the community. We’ve cleared the Candlelighters cottage in Leeds free of charge. It’s great to continue our work with such a great charity.
Leeds Mind
Leeds Mind supports the people of Leeds to discover their own resources to ‘recover’ from periods of poor mental health and to live life independently with their mental health condition.
How Do We Help Leeds Mind?
We have joined forces with the incredible team at Leeds Mind and updated our signs around Leeds to help everyone #CarryTheBurden.
"The Waste Team has banded together to champion our work of supporting anyone experience a mental health difficulty, which is especially appreciated during this tough time for everyone. It’s testament to the business that they’re still finding the time to support their local community in the midst of the pandemic!
It’s great that the friendly team is willing to have such honest and frank conversations about mental health – in such a male-dominated industry, this really will help people fight the stigma around talking about our mental health, and remind everyone that it’s “OK not to be OK”.
By helping us through their services, taking part in our fundraising campaigns and by donating their advertising space on roundabout signage across the city (thanks also to Leeds City Council!), they are helping us work towards better mental health for all in Leeds."
