Fueling Warmth: The Waste Team's Winter Giveaway for Pensioners

At The Waste Team, we are committed to making a positive impact on our community. 

Staying warm is a basic necessity during the winter months. A new Age UK analysis reveals that 2.5 million low-income older people will lose their Winter Fuel Payment due to new eligibility criteria, making winter heating costs difficult to manage. 

To help ease this burden, we launched a giveaway to cover two pensioners' winter fuel costs this year.

The Giveaway

To enter the giveaway, Facebook users just had to use our dedicated hashtag. The response was incredible, with over 500 people joining in. Many people in the local area nominated their grandparents and other close relatives, showing how much this initiative hit home within our community.

Once the competition closed, we used a fortune wheel to randomly select the winners over our live stream. We wanted the giveaway to be fair, so we let fate decide!

Announcing the Winners

Although we can’t disclose the winners' names, we are pleased to confirm that we’ve met the winners to hand them the good news face-to-face. We hope the winners enjoy a warm and stress-free winter with their families!
